Student to discuss how ‘beautiful Injury’ improved outlook on life

James Durham, a Professional Communication major, will share his secret to a better outlook on life during “Beautiful Injury: When Tragedy Prompts Life Inspiration” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at FSU Panama City’s Bayside Auditorium.

Durham has been on “positive steroids” since a motorcycle crash that left him with a severe traumatic brain injury in 2011. Despite his invisible disability, Durham has fought through painful rehabilitation to retrain his brain and achieve his goals with a smile on his face.

“I’m on positive steroids times a million,” he said. “I just keep giving every day my all no matter what, and I just try to lift others up.”
