Greenwashing expert to discuss ‘The Mind of the Consumer’

Erica Martin

Dr. Jeanine Stratton will present “The Mind of the Consumer: When 'Going Green' Gets Gray” as part of FSU Panama City’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

Stratton will discuss making good choices in an era of greenwashing, a marketing ploy in which a product is deceptively advertised as healthy and eco-friendly, from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at FSU Panama City’s Holley Lecture Hall.

Stratton studies human behavior in the workplace and the marketplace. As an assistant professor in the Business and Accounting Department at Furman University, she teaches courses on behavioral approaches to organizational performance improvement, consumer behavior and marketing practices.

In addition to her academic career, she has management and marketing consulting experience in retail, health care, banking, restaurant and safety industries. Her latest endeavors include working with not-for-profit organizations and women entrepreneurs.

Her unique clinical experiences spearheaded opportunities to work with business administration and extended applications of behavior analysis into business and workplace settings and campus sustainability initiatives.

The Distinguished Lecture Series is part of a two-day Applied Behavior Analysis Conference on Feb. 12-13. All events are open to the public.

BACB Continuing Education Units will be available through ECABA for $10 per unit. Thursday’s lecture is 1½ unit. Payment forms for CEUs will be available at the event.
