FSU Panama City will welcome incoming Dean Carol Edwards and honor Interim Dean Steve Leach during a Passing the Torch reception 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, in the Holley Academic Center St. Joe Lecture Hall.

Edwards, who has served as dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts and professor of art education at Texas Tech University since 2007, will become dean of FSU Panama City and Florida State’s College of Applied Studies on Aug. 10. She will be the fifth dean of the Panama City campus, succeeding Dr. Ken Shaw, who departed in June 2014 to become president of Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas.

Leach, FSU Panama City’s former associate dean and a member of its teaching faculty, has served as interim dean since July 2014.
